im not looking for how to build them or any thing just like good sc fi adventure type books with robots in them.

Start with the classics by Isaac Asimov – his fiction, not his popular science essays. He wrote “I, Robot”. The Robot Novels are good, too – that’s ‘Caves of Steel’, ‘Naked Sun’, ‘Robots of Dawn’, and ‘Robots and Empire’. The Foundation Novels are highly recommended, but I haven’t read them… yet, that is. Asimov is THE robot sci-fi writer. He popularized the genre and made it what it is today. You’ll love his work.
